Artists Statement

Karen Fitzgerald Buckley is inspired by the works of the masters. She finds herself opening what she considers to be a new chapter in her life, full of wonderful opportunities. 'The combination of my children being more self-sufficient, a new studio built by my husband and simply put, a myriad of skills to draw from, I am having the most fun and productive time artistically.' The two things in a painting that are the most important to Karen are capturing the light and painting subjects that are relevant in her daily life. 'I have the good fortune as an artist to live in the town of Cotuit which has an abundance of natural beauty coupled with an endless supply of boats of all types.' She is frequently inspired by the Cotuit Skiff which she views as a terrific boat for sailing.
