Artists Bio
Robert Peterson is a pastel artist accomplished at revealing a softer and innovative style to representing ordinary objects like eggs or fruit. Choice of palette, value control, and luscious light help to achieve a striking photo-realism quality within his pieces. Peterson’s meticulously detailed, yet minimalist still life pastels are stunning and remarkable. His images of fruits, vegetables, and shells have a photo realist quality to them that can only truly be appreciated in person. Each pastel draws the viewer into the secretive complexity of “simple” objects. Recently in an Albuquerque show titled “Silent Things, Secret Things: Still Life from Rembrandt to the Millennium”, Peterson was honored to be placed next to such wonderful masters as Rembrandt, Chagall, Warhol, and Weber.Peterson lives in Albuquerque with his wife and has collectors all over the world.
