Artists Bio

Gustaf Miller, illustrator of “Hats of for the Fourth of July,” and renowned sculptor of wood will present intellectually intriguing wood creations. His sculpture explores blocky form, abstraction and painted surface. He uses geometric, cut, sawn, or turned wood without the elements of organic movement seen in his earlier constructions. In This exhibition, Gustaf focuses on totem-like geometric shapes that are familiar to the blocks played with when you are a child. His ability to find stagnant, pre-constructed shapes and transform them in to nostalgic, intelligent architectural structures is compelling.
